A hand-painted tussar silk saree blouse carrying a cityscape of buildings, painted directly onto the fabric by an artist. It is a modern subject rather than a traditional motif, which makes it a conversation piece with a plain saree. Each blouse is painted individually, so no two are alike.

  • Sleeves: Elbow sleeves, 11 inches

Size & Delivery

Listed in size 38, and we make it in any size from XS to 3XL. Please check the size chart beside the photos. In-stock sizes are dispatched in 3–4 working days and delivered across India in 5–7 days. Custom sizes are hand-painted to order and take around 15 days.

Style Tips

A painted cityscape needs a quiet saree, so keep the drape plain. Tussar, kota, linen, chanderi and handloom cotton in beige, grey, black, indigo or rust all work well. It suits art events, exhibitions, gallery evenings and office wear as much as festive occasions. Keep jewellery minimal so the painting leads. Care

The first clean must be a dry clean. It sets the colours so they stay fast and don't bleed later. As tussar silk is delicate and the artwork is hand-painted, we recommend dry cleaning after that too. Never iron directly on the painted area; iron on low heat from the reverse side.

FAQs

Is the design printed or hand-painted?

Hand-painted. An artist paints it directly onto the tussar silk. It is not a print or a transfer.

What is tussar silk?

Tussar is a wild silk with a natural golden-beige colour and a slightly textured weave. It is more breathable than mulberry silk and has a matte finish rather than a high shine.

Is it padded and lined?

Yes, it is padded and fully lined, so no separate camisole is needed.

Can I get this blouse in my size?

Yes. We make it in any size from XS to 3XL. Custom sizes take around 15 days.

Which sarees go with a hand-painted blouse like this?

Plain drapes work best. Tussar, kota, linen, chanderi and handloom cotton in beige, grey, black, indigo or rust let the painting stand out.

Fabric & care

Handcrafted details need a little extra care to stay beautiful.

  • Dry clean first. Always dry clean the first time to protect the fabric, colour and embroidery.
  • Hand wash gently, only if needed. After the first dry clean, wash separately in cold water with a mild detergent. Do not soak, scrub or wring.
  • Dry in shade. Direct sunlight can fade the colour.
  • Iron inside out on low heat, with a thin cotton cloth over embroidered or painted areas. Never iron directly on mirrors.
  • Store in a muslin or cotton cover, not plastic, so the fabric can breathe.
